Derived Signals

In addition to the raw signal data directly pulled from the datasource, there are derived signals which take raw signals from the same datasource and transform them. These Derived Signals once created work like raw signals when setting up SCADA Elements.

To create a derived signal, either:

Right click the Derived node under the datasource which contains the raw signals from which you want to create the derive the new signal, and select New.
Right click the signal from which you want to derive the new signal and select Create derived signal from….

In the dialog that opens:

enter in the new signals name,
select the transformation method,
and if needed choose the raw signal from which to derive the new signal.

Transform Methods

On creation of a new derived signal you need to choose by which method to perform the transformation.

Override

When creating a datasource you can setup Signal Value Mappings which map the raw signal value to element status values (Pump, Valve, Pipe).

In some cases, the value mappings are different on a signal by signal basis.
